Introduction, Part 2

A couple of years ago, when we developed a fairly sizeable database of work-from-home information, a proposal was sent to the Department of Labor, Office of Disability Policy, and was greeted with enthusiasm.

Yes, they said, 'we are very interested in linking to you.'

Evidently, they meant the Lin-king in China.

And that's as far as it got.  Despite repeated emails, and continuing assurances from them, nothing ever happened.

So, we decided to do it on our own.

I thought you should see our attempts, however.

As an aside here, we actually got a bit creative, and using some new found computer skills, developed a book you can show your favorite government agency.

We made this research project our job for the last five years, and, among our skills is effective business analysis and 'in the trenches' experience dealing with Vocational Rehab issues, and government agencies.

Introduction

Welcome to the overview page of Alliance For The Disabled. 

In conjunction with my recommended Internet business programs, the publishers I know and trust have been selected for their integrity and value.  And they all have valuable information for you.

Do take advantage of their knowledge.

Even though anyone can benefit from the information I have gathered, you were on my mind when doing all the research.

Being unable to walk very well, and being a chronic pain patient, I know something about the frustrations of not being able to work, or being scared that you would lose your house because you 'didn't have enough month for the money', as they say.

So, here is the general idea.

There are some basic criteria which must be met in order to participate in all recommended programs.  To the best of my ability, they are listed below:

1) You must be able to understand what has been said so far.  If you have been following along OK, then you have passed the first test.

2) You must have a decent computer, and a basic knowledge of Windows, email, and Internet use.  You need to know how to cut and paste without  taking five minuntes.  If you need help understanding your computer, and it isn't available from your local human services provider, then please see this page. 

3) You need to be able to concentrate and make fairly basic decisions by following instructions from computer generated programs.  If you can manage 2-4 hours a day, you will be able to develop the skills to make money within 90 days.

The Beginning

A hearty welcome to those who arrived via my website's AFD ADVOCATE sign-up box!

The rest of you have been either personally referred or are here at the behest of your Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor to carefully examine the work-at-home programs recommended by Alliance For The Disabled.

Great!  Welcome, too.

Please have a look at my original website if you have not seen it before. (website is currently under re-construction)

Instead of publishing a newsletter, as I discussed in the Alliance For The Disabled website, I have found a better, less complicated method of getting my information to you.

It's called a 'blog.'  Short for Web Log.  It's what you are reading right now. 

Blog----kind or reminds you of some black, gooey stuff that Steve McQueen killed with a fire extinguisher. 

Oh, wait----that was the 'BLOB!'

Anyway........

The Internet is famous for combining words to make new ones. 

'Ezines,' for example.  A combination of 'electronic' and 'magazine.'

In fact, if you are interested, here is an entire website devoted to the subject.

Last year, I offered up my own version----MAGNET. 

A MAGazine published on the InterNET. 

Magnet.........hey, I thought it had potential, but the fact is it was about as successful as that famous car, the Gremlin.

People thought it was ridiculous.  The Gremlin, too. 

Nothing magnetic about it, I guess.  Oh, well........

OK, on to business.............

THE BEGINNING

The beginning of things is usually confusing. 

Remember when you first tried to use a computer?  Well, look how far you have come! 

That must mean that you can learn new things.  Right?

Me too.

In my case, the blog is new---thus, a beginning---but much of what comprises it is information gathered over the last five years of research.

Primarily, the research focused on separating the wheat from the chaff when looking at work at home business programs.

Wow!  What an eye-opener........

This is where you come in. 

You get to find out a variety of ways to make an income from the Internet.

And there are at least a million ways! 

That is, if you believe all the hype and nonsense easily found on the Internet. 

In fact, there are only a few real ones.  Only a few you can trust.

The rest you stay away from. (unless you like frustration and losing money)

I have joined such programs, closely researched many others, and have passing knowledge of thousands more during the past five years study.

In the days to come, this publication will discuss the valuable ones.  There really aren't that many, but certainly enough for many of you to start making money on the Internet.

You will even see examples of companies NOT to get involved with.   And why not.

So, we will go over all of this.  Just read these posts in chronological order. 

It's all there. 

And it will be updated and monitored regularly throughout 2005 and 2006.
