As this blog has taken on a life of its own, I have decided to keep this post at the head of the line, so to speak, with the understanding that quite a few of the entries which follow are undeniably op-ed pieces. And, I am publishing the first few pages of my Novella (screenplay) Sons of........
I do not apologize for my politics or world-view, and willingly share them with interested parties.
As well, I am recommending a website for people who need free, professional advice if they are disabled, an injured worker fighting with Social Security Disability, or a family member trying to help with these matters.
I spent six years as a vocational rehabilitation counselor, plus I was a 'QIW'--Qualified Injured worker in California---as a matter of fact, I obtained the counseling job through the process of vocational rehab. When my counselor asked what I would like to pursue, I told him I wanted his job---and so it happened. While helping hundreds of folks, the insurance companies did not appreciate my concern for the individual, because I took my time, and was generally successful re-introducing injured workers to the work force.
So, my recommendation is for the Disability Digest, which has helped over 80,000 people deal with the problems which come when dealing with insurance companies, physicians, attorneys and other. Remember, no cost to you, and real-life people to help, many who have personally gone through the process. Lots of great information here, and a community of other disabled or injured folks to talk with. Click here to sign up.
