The formidable Dylan Ratigan, host of MSNBC's The Dylan Ratigan Show, has long been known to reach into the heart of the matter--- say, the extraction of wealth in this country during the last twenty years, and vociferously demand answers all the while demonstrating his knowledge of the intricacies and ramifications of what occurs when Bureaucracy morphs into Plutocracy.
Right before our eyes.
His latest gesture toward reconciling our political system's failing, that of allowing money to dictate policy, has come in the form of a major national appeal to generate as many signatures as possible to allow he and fellow activist, Jimmy Williams, to get the attention of our congressman, and demand that 'get money out' of politics becomes more than a metaphor.
Go to their website and sign the petition. It's the right thing to do. But this goal can only be accomplished by mass participation. There are convenient buttons to connect with all your Facebook folks. And a Twitter button. Use them.
There is simply no reason to not sign the petition since any thinking person surely realizes that the nation's best interests cannot be at the heart of such a dishonorable, unjust system.
Indeed, it is quite the opposite. Just one indicator will tell the truth of the matter---almost no income gain by the vast majority of working Americans during the past thirty years, and exponential gain by the cream of the crop---the top two to three percent of all citizens. In any sense, this is a sure-fire recipe for disaster. The head will eat the body, and that is exactly what is happening.
But it can be changed.
These Representatives can be removed just as easily as they were put into place.
There is a rattle of change in the air these days. Ten days now into the Wall Street demonstrations. Of course, very little main stream news, but it would be a rational conclusion that many Americans have knowledge of all that is happening. And that scares the wealthy and powerful.
Rise up. Sign the damned petition.
Thank you, Dylan, for your bravery. Keep your head down.
