The concept of war is used as a continuous 'foreign policy,' with the US in present egregious and unlawful abuse of their superpower status. History will judge when (or if) Americans developed the education competence to evolve beyond endless wars. Or, it will find solace in the fact that along with the nightmare of War is brought such technological terror that the end might be mercifully quick.
Murder us outright in our sleep, or spray Corexit over land and sea, or ordain mutant seeds dominate the available market, or even finally realize that the Ocean shall take all as the warming temperature eases the restrictions on Methane, surely an exponential and cataclysmic event in itself. But try and make matters right?
Never. Never, it would seem, is the mantra of those whose excesses are even threatened with a modicum of re-distribution, despite the long term positive effects it may have propagating the species. Truly, it can be reduced to pedestrian greed. Think of the school yard. The kid with the most of everything kept getting more. The kid who took others lunch money. More, more, more.
The one in twenty-five of us who possesses no conscience. Those who adhere to the notion of privatizing the gains and socializing the losses.
When the rekoning arrives for these folks, their suffering will be the stuff of legends.
