Really, Rick Santorum had it right when he asked the audience how many of them favored a 9% Federal sales tax. Nobody. What does it take to convince this lunatic that his 'won't play in Peoria' policies are completely out of line with the thinking and beliefs of most rational folks?

And poor Rick Perry. He could barely spit out the timeworn 'flat tax' platform presented so many times in the past, and it has proved to be simply 'flat' regressive. The poor pay more, the middle class pays more, and the rich pay less, adding to their 370% gain in income since 1979---compared to anywhere from 18% for the poorest to 40% of middle class members.

But this national disconnect with Wall street and Congress in general should bode well for the Democrats to regain control of both the House and Senate in 2012. One can only hope that Cantor, McConnell, and a spate of others are on their way out.

It was the investment banks which created the illegal securitization of these mortgages, which in turn has caused the entire economy to collapse, including a continued press to throw people out in the street through foreclosure. You and your ilk caused this nightmare. You and the FED. You are a rat-bastard if you can stomach this kind of behavior.
Where is your conscience? Researchers have concluded that some 20% of the population do not have a conscience, and are thus well suited for a position with Bain Capital, or as a Republican president who will run roughshod over every dimension of our society---even worse than George W. De-regulate everything from oil production to food safety inspections. And do not forget to cut the taxes for the wealth. They have had it pretty hard, these fine folks.
